          Business BootCamp   kicks off  on March 7th and runs through April 11th at Columbia State University, Clifton Campus.  Entrepreneurship Program, a 36-hour facilitated course, condensed into a 18 hours, 6 weeks course that coaches aspiring and early stage entrepreneurs through business planning, pitching and tracking, including financial forecasting to ensure their business concept is feasible.  Three sessions are planned for Wayne County during 2017 with the first 6-week session running March 7th – April 11th on Every Tuesdays from 5:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.   Three other sessions are being planned for adult learners between now and June 30,  2018.  a special youth entrepreneurship session is being planned for Summer 2017.  Dates and times will be announced soon. 

    Business BootCamp is seeking to reach artisans, makers, bakers, freelancers, entrepreneurs, business owners, or anyone who is seeking to start or grow a business, or expanding a hobby to create income through self-employment as a strategy to create meaningful work?

    Participants will benefit from coaching by a certified facilitator, proven curriculum used in step-by-step workbooks, small group exercises, local experts as guest speakers, and a 3-month license for the online business planning toolset LivePlan.  The program is not only opened to the people of Wayne County , but also for those who live in the surrounding counties like Lawrence, Giles., Perry, Hardin, and Lewis counties in Tennessee.

    Wayne County Retired Teaches meet 6 times a year on the second Monday of every other Month March  The Retired Teachers meet to discuss the current issues regarding education for meeting   Help at various locations throughout the year.  check with the Chamber and the newspaper to learn the current location of each meeting.

    The Wayne County Chamber of Commerce will host its 3rd Annual Home & Garden Show.  Themed "May Flowers A Burst,"  the 2017 show will feature an array of home and garden products, vendors, and exhibitors.   Whether you have a DIY project or need contractor or tools and equipment to get started, you'll find and buy it at the home and garden show.  Begins at 9 am at the National Guard Armory on US64 Bypass in Waynesboro. Vendor setup at 6am, Doors open at 9 am. Find everything you need for the home and garden during the show. Area representatives will have their products and services on display. Watch for the insert in the April editions of the Wayne County News! Booth space available indoors or outside.
    Free 10x10 booth space to all members of the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce, $50 vendor fee for non- members. Reserve your area via email or by phone at 931-722-3575.

     Bicycle rides of varying lengths through rural Wayne and sections of Lewis and Perry counties. Tour via the antebellum Clifton Turnpike and visit sites like the Buffalo and the Tennessee rivers, Crazyhorse Recreational Park, Tennessee Fitness Spa. Century, metric century, half metric and family fun rides. Sag support and rest stops on all routes. $25 Rider fee includes souvenir t-shirt. Proceeds sponsor future chamber programming.     The Annual Collinwood Christmas Parade sponsored by the Collinwood Beautification Board will get underway on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. The parade will feature Christmas music, the Collinwood Marching Band, floats, horses, fire trucks, antiques vehicles, and much more.  Long time Collinwood resident and cancer alleviation advocate Tina Daniel will lead the parade as the 2016 Grand Marshal.  Line up begins at 1:00 p.m. at the Collinwood Recreation Building.  -- The Wayne County News
