Monday, March 10       City of Clifton Ice Cream Social and Budget Fair

6 pm to 8 pm at Frank Hughes School Cafeteria. Bring your ideas and questions and enjoy an ice cream delight at Clifton's first Ice Cream Social and Budget Fair! Open House with city department heads and elected officials begins at 6pm followed by a city budget presentation at 7:30 pm. Saturday, March 15                     Petals and Pearls

Registration begins at 8:30 am at Waynesboro Middle School. All 4th through 8th grade girls and their guardians are invited to participate in this free educational and fun event just for petals and pearls!

 

Saturday, April 5                April Showers Home and Garden Show

Begins at 8 am at the National Guard Armory on US64 Bypass in Waynesboro. Vendor setup at 6am, Doors open at 8am. Find everything you need for the home and garden during the show. Area representatives will have their products and services on display. Watch for the insert in the April 2nd edition of the Wayne County News! Booth space available indoors or outside $200. "A Night For The Davis House Child Advocacy Center"

at the Strand Theatre Hohenwald, April 12. Musical entertainment includes Multi-Platinum Songwriter Kenny Durham, Three Time Grammy Award Nominee Lee Thomas Miller (“Southern Girl”, Tim McGraw; “You’re Gonna Miss This”, Trace Adkins; “I’m Still A Guy” and “The World”, Brad Paisley) and the four sister duo, Redhead Express. Tickets will go on sale in March at $25 each. Additionally donations will be accepted on behalf of The Davis House. Saturday, April 26                Wayne Medical Center Health Fair

Wayne Medical Center will host a free community health fair on Saturday, April 26, at Collinwood Middle School, located at 300 4th Avenue North in Collinwood. The event will be held from 8:00 a.m. until noon and will feature free health screenings, health and wellness activities, refreshments and door prizes. The Walk Across Tennessee Competition will kick off at the Wayne Medical Center Health Fair. May 22                                  4-H Grillin’ and Chillin’ Camp
Day camp is for students in 6th-12th grade. Do you like to be outdoors? Do you like hanging out with friends? Do you like cooking? If you said yes to any of these then Grillin’ and Chillin’ Camp is for you! This is a fun and educational grilling camp provided by UT/TSU Extension where youth will learn about grilling safety. This also counts as a training for the 4-H Outdoor Meat Cookery Competition. Cost is $25 and includes lunch and grilling supplies. Must pay and register at least one week in advance. May 29                         4-H Consumer Decision Making Day Camp
Day camp is for students in 9th-12th grade. If you think you are a savvy shopper, this is the camp for you. You will learn to make smart buying decision which will last you the rest of your life and work on public speaking skills the first half of the day. The second half will be spent at the Waynesboro City Park Swimming Pool hanging out with friends! Lunch, snacks are provided. Cost is $25. Must pay and register at least one week in advance. Enjoy the greatest gospel music festival around! Marvin Morrow's 25 acre farm just off the Natchez Trace Pkwy mile marker 349.5 in Cypress Inn, Tennessee. Bicycle rides of varying lengths through rural Wayne and sections of Lewis and Perry counties. Tour via the antebellum Clifton Turnpike and visit sites like the Buffalo and the Tennessee rivers, Crazyhorse Recreational Park, Tennessee Fitness Spa. Century, metric century, half metric and family fun rides. Sag support and rest stops on all routes. $25 Rider fee includes souvenir t-shirt. Proceeds sponsor future chamber programming. July 7-August 4                 How to Avoid Falling for a Jerk/Jerkette
At one time or another, we have thought about that old saying, "LOVE IS BLIND." It might have been when your best friend forgave his or her partner the hundredth time for the SAME CRIME; Or, after your divorce, and after looking back with analytic contemplation, you finally saw the warning signals of the person you ended up marrying. The accumulation of experiences like these lead you to wonder if you could ever... FOLLOW YOUR HEART WITHOUT LOSING YOUR MIND. Know what to look for in another person and when dating. This is a 5 session program. The classes, provided by UT/TSU Extension will meet on Mondays from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Cost is $30 and includes a workbook, snacks, and pizza party at the last workshop. Wayne County Relay For Life for the American Cancer Society begins at 6:00 p.m. on Friday and ends at 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, at the Waynesboro Sportsplex, on Hwy. 13 South. October 16- November 20     Living Well with Chronic Conditions
This fun, skill-building program will help persons with a chronic condition and their caregivers learn how to better manage the condition and get more from life. Chronic conditions that may benefit from the program include arthritis, asthma, cancer, COPD, depression, diabetes, heart disease, obesity and fibromyalgia. Workshops, provided by UT/TSU Extension, will be on Thursdays from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and will include a meal, recipe book, and workbook. Cost is $65.
